Irene and I always said we wanted a vege patch eversince moving into this place at Herbal Hill Gardens, and that we got! (after a year and half).
I braved my hayfever last Saturday and set off with Irene to the flower markets at the New Convent Garden in Vauxhall. Getting there was a whole event in itself - but that's a story for another day. We finally made it there to meet Dave & Alice in time to grab a few plants to jazz up our place. Reminded me of when I use to go with my sister to the Flemington flower markets back home for special occasions, and sometimes for no occassion at all. We'd then spend the day making all sorts of arrangements to deck out the house.
Anyhow, after bringing the plants home to show off to the boys and having breakfast with Dave & Alice, we thought...."now what?" So we followed D&A's footsteps back to Finchley Rd, dragging Mark along with us to Home Base. 3 hours later we emerged with a planter of rosemary, mint, basil, thyme, parsely, oregano, taragon and dill along with potting mix! Were we ambitious? No way!
It was all very exciting!! And even better, we caught ourselves staring at our 'lil garden over dinner; and spent the next day watching it grow!
