Taking the train, ferry and bus from Oslo to Bergen along the Norway-in-a-Nutshell tour was one of our most memorable weekend trips. It was a cold and expensive weekend...but fantastic all the same. The fjords were breath-taking!! I thought Milford Sounds in NZ was amazing, but this is far more grand - it just stretches on and on and on...
If we were to do it again, the only thing I'd change is to spend longer at the fjords (overnight in Gudvagen as originally planned would have been good) and only half a day in Bergen. Tips for any travellers: Buy the tickets individually 24 hours ahead...its alot cheaper!! We learnt it the hard way, and ended up going for the packaged tickets instead which works out better if you buy it late.
