Enjoyed a scrumptious feast on Chinese NYE hosted by D&A, and even ensured we'd fit in a game of poker to uphold the gambling tradition.
On NY day, we soon discovered that the festivities in London were in some ways, bigger than back home. The streets surrounding Leceister Square and Trafalgar Sqaure were packed with people. There was such a great buzz about the city, and it was so nice to see that in contrast to Sydney, here the whole community were joining in the celebrations, not just the Chinese. We even managed to find a temple tucked away near Tottenham Court Rd to pay our respects.
Other New Year traditions were also borne in mind...despite not going out to purchase new clothes, we did treat ourselves to a pricey haircut (and I regretted it horribly, but that's another story). The only thing really missing were red packets...!
