Went on our maiden overseas trip as UK residents to Brugge, Belgium a couple of weeks ago. Still can't believe how lucky we were to have made it for the Eurostar with only 3 mins to spare!! The Eurostar was great...so much more efficient than going through all the check in and customs at an airport.
What can we say about Brugge - pretty; overly touristy; extremely well preserved; uncannily peaceful. Where was everyone?? Felt like time stood still. Funnily enough, it somehow reminded us of 'The Truman Show'. Beautiful yet lacking soul...however, plenty of chocolate and waffles to compensate.
We also conquered Brussells in the 2 hours we had whilst waiting for the train back home. Another place to tick off the list!
